YOur Hosts
Old Movies for Young Stoners is the podcast that makes cannabis a gateway drug to classic cinema.
Hosted by Bob Calhoun, Cory Sklar, Philena Franklin, and Greg Franklin.

Bob Calhoun
Writer & MC
Bob Calhoun is a San Francisco Bay Area author, journalist, and former punk wrestler and
peepshow emcee. He is the author of The Murders That Made Us (ECW Press), a true crime history of the San Francisco Bay Area that received a starred review from Publisher's Weekly.
His punk wrestling memoir, Beer, Blood & Cornmeal: Seven Years of Incredibly Strange
Wrestling (ECW Press), is a national bestseller. His follow-up, Shattering Conventions: Commerce, Cosplay and Conflict on the Expo Floor, was spun off into a long-running column and video feature for Meetings Today, the trade magazine of the meetings and conventions industry.
Bob first hatched the idea for Old Movies for Young Stoners when Cory Sklar invited him on his Radio Valencia show Illogical Contraption and asked Bob to come up with a short list of movies from before 1970 that young people could get high to. The concept stuck and Bob and Cory developed it into this podcast where Bob takes Cory through classic films and Cory pairs them with the right kind of cannabis.
Bob and his wife Rosie live in a very suburban home near Oakland with way too many cats, both feral and domesticated.

CorY Sklar
Budtender & Musician
Cory Sklar is a musician, podcaster, and our resident budtender. He is your guide on the Hollywood Punk Rock Graveyard Tour, a walking tour of Hollywood Forever
Cemetery visiting the final resting places of some of punk and goth’s biggest legends.
He is the co-creator and former co-host of Illogical Contraption, a Radio Valencia talk show and podcast where Cory and company discussed the finer points of weed, pissing, cults, burritos, serial killers, chili dogs, various strains of heavy metal and bizarre cult movies.
OMFYS was born when Cory had Bob as a guest on IllCon and
asked him to come up with a short list of movies from before 1970 that young people
could vape to. Bob and Cory kept coming back to this idea and later developed it into this podcast, where Bob suggests classic films that are a little on the weirder side and
Cory pairs them with weed strains and edibles like a cannabis sommelier.
Cory is a Los Angeles native. It has been reported that he is the mellow alter ego of
Chaki the Funk Wizard, the strange visitor from another planet who performs the
OMFYS theme song.
